The world championship lantern World team ski jumping champion Alexander Herr lit the light for the 7th nordic world skiing championship in Baiersbronn. At the "99 days countdown" ceremony on November 1st, Alexander Herr and repeated paralympic champion Frank Höfle handed the world championship lantern over to Karl Faisst. Until the opening of the world championship on February 7th the lantern moves from shop window to shop window in Mitteltal and Obertal to call the poeple's attention to the world championship.
Schools at the world championship
The organization comitee invited all schools of the school district Freudenstadt to participate at the world championship. All schools get free entry at the sport events. With this, the organization comitee hopes to dismantle barriers between disabled and non-disabled. The schools are invited to study a participating country during the classes and to support this country live and equipped with little flags at the skiing competitions. Some schools already announced their attendance and will give the athletes at the skiing stadium a good going over.
