Even the organisators are surprised. Meanwhile the list of volunteers has grown to more than 470 entries. But Axel Günter, secretary general of the world championship, is not afraid that some of the volunteers stay unemployed. „The world championship 2003 has the slogan „more than a world championship“, which requires much effort in preparation and realization.“, says Günter. Not only the sport should be remembered by all participants, also the side program is supposed to offer something special. Alltogeher the organisators are happy about every volunteer. „Alone the two biathlon competitions require approximately 60 volunteers in the area of the skiing stadium, who have to be trained as the world championship approaches. The driving service requires approximately 70 volunteers who have to be on standby during the whole event. These two examples show, that every volunteer is welcomed in our team“, Günter makes clear.
All volunteers got the chance to view and to fit on the official volunteers dress in the middle of september. The feedback about the dress was always positive, so until end of december, when the prepartions go into the final phase, all volunteers will get their dresses.
